PHP Laravel for small social networking system?

I have a requirement to make small social networking system. My client has a requirement to use PHP-Laravel framework. My question is it helpful to use PHP-Laravel framework like if we want to integrate AngularJS framework in it and what about if we write complex queries?

The requirement also contains the Video integration, Online chat and file Uploading. Will this framework helpful for this type of requirement?
