Create dropdown search that uses options like location and type without slowing down database

I'm creating an application using larval 5 . Creating the html and js stuff is not a problem.I need to create a drop down search that drops down when a user click the search input box. This search will include a location and user type. My real question and concern is, Whats my best clean scallable option that won't slow my database down. should i use elastic search or is there a better option. Either way what is the best way to code this. I've included a mockup of what i am using.
