What is the best for backend application [on hold]

Me and my group came up with a idea to about CRUD application for a 'limbcare' small company for our college project.

And the problem came up when deciding the language. Everyone familiar with the PHP but not laravel framework but this language is not a best one to spend time in 2018 and Java also the same.

According to what I know the best idea is to learn a JS Framework.

Our idea is to learn Angular but when I explore it a little bit I found that it cannot use for backend.

Is that through, what about AngularFire, cant we use it for our app?

This may be opinion base but Please give me a short answer?
