how to maintain growing database in mysql ?

hi my project has record like 500k rows in a table now and (300 MB size ) , it keeps growing and I can't even upload that file to local phpmyadmin. I am looking for a way to maintain the database better in future even it is growing or should I delete old data ?

Please suggest and highly appreciate for your help
