Validate yyyy-mm input in Laravel

I am working on a site where we collect dates for employment history, in this case we don't want to collect a day, just year and month, I am using a jquery datepicker, example date: 2020-10 (yyyy-mm).

I have been trying to find a validation rule for Laravel without success, I am assuming this should be a custom validator, but I have no clue where to start. Help would be appreciated.
