Laravel 5.7 integrate with existing SAML IDP Server

I'm on Laravel 5, I'm trying to integrate SAML 2.0 using https://github.com/aacotroneo/laravel-saml2 plugin.

I'm very new to PHP and I'm not sure how to get this working. I tried following their steps under their Configuration Section but it's not clear.

From what i can see all of their example projects/code examples are using an older version of the plugin so it does not work on my PHP website.

I would be really grateful if someone could provide some clear steps on how to implement SAML SSO using version 2.1.0 of the aacotroneo plugin.
