Are there any reasons why Vue is preferred on the frontend when working in a Laravel app?

I have a Laravel app where Vue is on the frontend. I am starting another one shortly and wondering if I should go with React or stick with Vue. I always see Vue & Laravel, as if it's a pairing, but I can't find any 'advantages' as to why Vue is the better choice. Maybe a better question is: are there any disadvantages to using React with Laravel?
