I have been searching for days now with no solution. When I try and use the 'sudo vagrant up' command I always get this error:
A VirtualBox machine with the name 'homestead' already exists.
Please use another name or delete the machine with the existing
name, and try again.
I have tried to delete the homestead box multiple times with every variation of the
sudo vagrant destroy [boxname]
with the force command and all that jazz. I further tried the
sudo vagrant box remove [boxname]
command with no luck. When I run the
sudo vagrant box list
sudo vagrant global-status
It reports that there are no virtual boxes to report. I uninstalled VirtualBox, ran a system cleaner, and used the provided uninstaller, and upon reinstallation it continues to give me the same error. I uninstalled it again and then searched my mac for any files associated with virtual box and deleted them, and upon reinstallation the same error is thrown. I'm to the point where I am about to re-image to computer to get this working. Are there hidden files I am missing to delete? What am I missing?
