Ionic app connect to database passing through laravel website

I created a website using laravel framework, i have login and register pages and it work with my postgresql database. Now i created an ionic app with two templates (login and register), i want to use the same database by using post and get method to laravel login and register pages, but i saw that laravel have a token-based authentification, so in internet i found samples and tutorials about a laravel rest api doing this, but the problem is that there is no example starting with an existing laravel website and all tutorials are using laravel just as a backend... Could you help me please?
